Intel has shown off a new tiny motherboard, much smaller than the
previous mini-ITX system motherboards, called NUC or Next Unit of
Computing, this tiny motherboard measures just 4 inches by 4 inches,
this compares to the 6.7 inch by 6.7 inch size of the mini-ITX
motherboards.
This new NUC motherboard will work with Intel’s Core
i3 mobile processor, but could apparently also handle more powerful
processors as long as the power consumption and heat generation isn’t
too high.
The
new Intel NUC motherboard has been designed for applications like
digital signage, and it comes with two RAM SO-DIMM slots, HDMI,two mini
PCIe slots, USB 3.0, WiFi, Bluetooth and even Thunderbolt.
There
are no details as yet on when these new NUC motherboards will be
available and also no details on how much they will cost, you can see
more photos of the device over at SWEClockers.
